Juniors at CBFC
09th January 2012
Hello all
You may have seen from Nickola's announcement about our courses for this term that I will be running a session specifically for the junior members of the club. This is a fairly new thing that we are trying at Chilwell Blades, so I thought I would explain a little more about what I have planned.
I aim to do three things:
1. Improve your technical skills, through a mixture of group and individual lessons. Whether you fence foil, epee or sabre we will work on helping you to do it better. (We would normally expect you to complete the Gold foil before joining the new group).
2. Improve your fitness for fencing. After completing two simple fitness tests at the beginning of term we will practice a set of exercises designed to work on the muscles and joints that you use most in fencing. At the end of term we'll do the tests again to see how you have improved.
3. Help to prepare you for competitions. If you've never been to a competition before then I can help you know what to expect. Even if you have been to a competition before, I can help you perform to your best - and help you choose the right competitions to go to. I also hope to organise matches against teams from other clubs/schools to give you more experience.
As ever, if you have any questions, please ask.
Robert
