On club competition nights there will be no coaching or courses.

Easter Egg 1 Hit Epee Competition - Weds 28th March. Check in 7.30 PROMPT.

The Handicap Foil Trophy - Weds 18th July. Check in 7.30 PROMPT.

AGM - Weds 25th July. Fencing from 7-8pm. AGM will start straight after.

Annual Club Competition - (Adults) Sun 2nd Dec / (Juniors) Weds 5th Dec.

Chocolate Santa 1 Hit Epee Competition - Weds 19th Dec. Check in 7.30 PROMPT.

Annual Dinner & Awards Evening - Fri 11th Jan 2019. TBC

Club Courses

Warm-up & Main Footwork Session. 7.15pm onwards.

The following courses and lessons follow the footwork sessions and finish around 8.30pm.

(Courses and lessons are only available to Chilwell Blades' Club Members)

Junior Fencers - Aged 14 or under, MUST be accompanied throughout the entire evening by an adult. The supervising adult doesn’t have to be fencing, but must remain in the hall throughout the session.

Signing In
On club night’s we are all required to sign in each week for fire, health and safety regulations. Our board is situated in the main sports hall, on the door - of the big blue cupboard. Parents who are remaining in the hall with their child must also sign in as a ‘Parent/Guardian’.

What Happens After The Beginners’ Course?
The Beginners’ Course lasts for 10-12 weeks and works towards completion of your BAF Bronze Certificate. Membership of the club is included in the Beginners’ Course fee. If you wish to continue at the club after the course, you can join as a full adult or junior member and proceed through your Silver and Gold awards and try other weapons. At this point you will need to start buying your own kit.

The Big Foil League Challenge 2018
To enter please download the entry form, complete and sign, and send to
Entries cost £10 per person (please use the account details that will be emailed to you on receipt of the completed entry form).

The main features of The Big Foil League Challenge 2018 are as follows:

• A poule unique for individual adult (18+) foilists in the East Midlands
• Entries may be accepted up to May 2018 unless demand exceeds expectation
• The event runs continuously throughout the year, all bouts must be completed by 1 December
• Competitors arrange their bouts at times and locations to suit themselves (NB competitors will have to share their contact information with fellow competitors and will require transport)
• All bouts to 15 hits and separate leagues for men and women
• Event is for fun and to provide a wider range of competitive experiences, results do not affect national rankings.
