Chilwell Blades meet every Wednesday evening at Chilwell Olympia, Chilwell, Nottingham. The club has been at

Chilwell Olympia for 33 years, starting a few months after the Olympia was itself opened. Our president, for life!

Malc Cawton has been with it since its conception (conceived in his garage we are reliably informed!), the ever

youthful Richard Collins has been here almost as long!!

It is a relaxed, friendly, social, fencing club with an age range from under 10 years old to well over, well let's

just say, old enough to know better! Whilst we enjoy improving our skills as fencers we put a lot of emphasis

on having a good time and enjoying our fencing.

We have a Beginners Course which runs at various times throughout the year, new members are encouraged

to progress on through the grades and try other weapons. Foil, Epee and Sabre are all fought at Chilwell both at

electric and the steam variety.

We have members who have done and are still doing well in various competitions with all three weapons, not

just the seniors either, our junior members continue to do well at county and national level.

We welcome any visiting fencers to our club and we have had visits from fencers as far a field as the USA and
