Chilwell Blades meet every Wednesday evening at Chilwell Olympia, Chilwell, Nottingham. The club has been at Chilwell Olympia since 1974, starting a few months after the Olympia was itself opened. Our president for life, Malc Cawton has been with it since its conception (conceived in his garage we are reliably informed!), the ever youthful Richard Collins has been here almost as long!!

We are a relaxed, friendly, social, fencing club with an age range of 10 years old to......well let's just say, old enough to know better! Whilst we enjoy improving our skills as fencers we put a lot of emphasis on having a good time and enjoying our fencing.

We have a Beginners Course which runs at various times throughout the year, new members are encouraged to progress on through the grades and try other weapons. Foil, Epee and Sabre are all fought at Chilwell both at electric and the steam variety.

We are a thriving club and have a large contingent of successful competition fencers who regularly compete on the UK, International & County fencing circuit. We have several fencers ranked in the British Top 50, Junior & Senior champions, International fencers who have represented our country and we even have a European Champion & two World Veteran Bronze Medallists.

We welcome any visiting fencers to our club and we have had visits from fencers as far a field as the USA and Australia! Come along any Wednesday evening, you will be assured a warm welcome.
